Looking for a profitable Laundry business?

CEO & Founder of 7Folds Laundry
7Folds is one of the numerous fast-growing laundry shops in Metro Manila that is worth mentioning.
Its owners, husband and wife tandem of Raymund Layoso and Jane Layoso have been running this full-service laundry since 2012.
During that time, they observed a laundry shop on the ground floor of the apartment building where they were staying. They noticed that there were a lot of customers who used its laundry service, which is done “per kilo,” as Raymund described it back then. Typically, washed clothes were delivered within 3-5 days. Recognizing an opportunity to launch a full-service laundry shop that would deliver clothes faster, 7Folds wanted to have a competitive advantage by reducing its handover time within the day or, at most, within 24 hours to take things to the next level and provide its customers with a quick and efficient delivery time.
This idea inspired them to start the business. The first spot location is a for-sale laundry shop in Quezon City. It was an existing laundromat with a lot of clothes displayed on its shelves, indicating a profitable business in that location. It had been there for almost two years and its proximity to their place was also considered. The negotiation went well, and they were able to acquire the shop, which is where it all began. Although it already has a name, the previous owner agreed to change it to the liking of the new owners. Hence, the first laundry shop was called “Rane Laundry Express,” which was a combination of Raymund’s and Jane’s names, as well as the word Laundry Express which means “quick laundry service” – the concept that they want to promote.
For two years, Raymund runs the shop while working as an IT Administrator for an international organization located in Makati. At the time, his wife was in charge of auditing, paperwork, and other administrative tasks, while Raymund was responsible for the company’s staff, infrastructure, operational issues, and much more. Their firm used the family partnership business model, relying on the two owners rather than outside staff. 7Fold’s dependable laundry team members have been just fantastic additions to their company. It has since expanded with the addition of two more branches, and in 2019, they rebranded the business to 7Folds in homage to their seventh year in the industry and a biblical term that means seven folds of blessings and restoration.

Raymund’s ultimate goal was to leave his 9-5 job, even though working in the IT industry provided him with lucrative take-home pay of a six-figure salary. Still, he did not give up on his dream of one day owning and operating his own successful business. The sign finally arrived when he was retrenched from his previous IT company and decided to devote all of his time and energy to their business, which proved to be the best decision he has ever made. He remembered one of his mentors told him about it, and it has now become a reality. All of these premises are based on the concept of expectations. He was looking for a way to supplement his income so that he could support his family and his parents while also pursuing his long-term goal. And, in retrospect, owning a laundry service has made it possible for him to do so.
Truly, some things will never change if you want to be successful in business. Like being bold and not being afraid to fall in pursuit of your life’s goal. And, most importantly, to take action! Raymund and Jane both agree that the laundry business has been a rewarding and challenging experience thus far. They look forward to what the future will bring to their 7Folds Laundry business, their immediate family, and extended family of franchisees.
They have learned a lot by observing, speaking with customers, and choosing the right partners. They are still learning today, which is why they continue to stop, observe, and converse with patrons. As Raymund explained, the business is constantly changing, and at 7Folds, they always want to be on the cutting edge by thinking about the best unique value proposition that they can offer. This, and much more, is what their customers can always expect from them.
